EPIS.init()

EPIS.init(config: EpisBoxConfig): this

Initializes the SDK with your client configuration. Must be called once before any mountChat() call. Returns this for chaining. Calling init() a second time without calling unmountAll() first logs a warning and is a no-op — the first config wins.

Your partner client ID, issued by PastpaperLM. This is a public identifier — not a secret. Identifies your app to PastpaperLM’s servers for session scoping and revenue attribution.

EPIS.init({ clientId: 'auraspace' })

object

Visual configuration for the EPIS embed. All fields are optional — omitted fields fall back to sensible defaults or are derived automatically.

Show theme properties

'dark' | 'light' | 'auraspace' | 'minimal'

Apply a named preset as the base theme. Individual token overrides are applied on top. If both preset and individual tokens are specified, individual tokens win.

Main accent color — buttons, links, highlights. Hex or RGB. Required if not using a preset.Example: '#4f46e5'

Supporting accent color. If omitted, derived from primary by shifting hue +30° in HSL space.

Outermost background color of the EPIS embed. Default: #0f172a (dark) / #ffffff (light).

Card and panel background. If omitted, derived from background (lightened 8% in dark mode, darkened 3% in light mode).

Double-elevated surface (modals, dropdowns). Derived from surface by the same step if omitted.

Primary text color. Must pass 4.5:1 contrast ratio on background. Default: #f1f5f9 (dark) / #0f172a (light).

Secondary and placeholder text. Must pass 3:1 contrast on surface. Derived from text at 60% opacity if omitted.

Border and divider color. Accepts rgba. Default: rgba(255,255,255,0.08) (dark) / rgba(0,0,0,0.08) (light).

User chat message background. Derived from primary at 15% opacity if omitted.

EPIS message background. Default: rgba(255,255,255,0.04) (dark) / rgba(0,0,0,0.04) (light).

Any Google Font name, or 'system' to use the OS system font stack. The SDK appends a safe fallback stack automatically. Default: 'Inter'.Example: 'Poppins', 'Roboto', 'system'

Base font size for the embed. Allowed range: '13px' to '18px'. Default: '15px'.

Primary border radius — cards, modals, large buttons. Default: '12px'.

Small border radius — chips, tags, inputs. Derived as ~60% of radius if omitted.

'dark' | 'light' | 'system'

Color mode. 'system' follows the OS prefers-color-scheme media query and switches automatically. Default: 'dark'.

'en' | 'si' | 'ta'

default:"'en'"

Interface language. 'si' = Sinhala, 'ta' = Tamil. Controls EPIS’s response language and UI strings.

EPIS teaching persona. 'machan' is the friendly peer persona. Other personas may be available — contact us for options.

'lite' | 'bright'

default:"'lite'"

AI model tier for chat. 'lite' is faster and cheaper (Gemini Flash). 'bright' is more capable for complex questions (Gemini Pro). Users are billed at the rate of the selected model.
